I always was a bit heavier in elementary school and middle school, in high school I joined the cross country program and lost a lot of the weight that I had been holding, but I was still eating horribly. When I reached college my eating habits didn’t change, however my exercise completely went away, I went from 185 lbs. to 230 lbs. by the time I graduated. Shortly after graduation I hit a breaking point when I stepped on a scale and realized I weight 244, going out to lunch every day at my job was obviously not helping at all.
I started my weight loss originally without the help of Dr. Scinta, I lost 10 pound but it took 3 to 4 months, in the meantime my mom had joined the program and had lost a considerable amount of weight in that same time, and recommended that I join the program.
With the help of Dr. Scinta, I went from 233, down to 172, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Most recently I ran a 5k at an 8 minute per mile pace. Honestly I don’t think I would have been able to do this, in such a short amount of time without the Full Meal replacement program that the staff at Medical Weight Loss of NY put together. After a while and nearly 50 lbs. of weight loss, I switched over to a partial meal replacement and started working out more regularly.
I think one of the things that felt the best about the weight loss was looking at my old clothes that I was considering giving away, and then realizing that not only do I fit into those clothes now, but some of those clothes were now too big on me. Being able to fit into a men’s medium when all my life I only wore XL tee shirts was such a huge change.
Honestly, I believe I would have given up after a few months and continued on with my bad eating habits had it not been for people like Martha at Medical Weight Loss coming up with great meal and snack ideas.
