Willie and Tamara’s Weight Loss Success

before and after for weight loss patients, Willie and Tamara
Father and daughter’s combined weight loss of 200.5 lb!

Willie: 82.5 lbs. Weight Loss

I started the Medical Weight Loss Program the last Thursday of May 2013 (May 25th). I had waited a while and I was very excited about doing the program. I had done the program in 2006 and I didn’t follow up with it after doing very well with the weight loss.

This time around I decided that I would do the program with my youngest daughter Tamara. I knew it would be easier doing the program with someone living in the same environment as myself, also I knew it would help my wife to start buying healthier foods.

I had a total knee replacement in May of 2011, which cost me my job with the Syracuse City School District. After the surgery, I had a hard time walking a half mile without getting out of breath and energy. I had previously walked around 4 miles a day before my knee gave out. That’s all I ever wanted to do after surgery was to be able to walk my 4 miles and not be exhausted when I was done. I now walk 4 miles a day, if I can’t walk the route that I normally walk, then I walk about 3 miles on another route.

I am very thankful for the Medical Weight Loss Program of NY and I’m very thankful for its staff. Most importantly I am thankful for the best weight loss doctor in all the land, Dr. Wendy Scinta. The winner of numerous awards for her profession, I know I’m in good hands. We here in Central NY are very lucky to have someone like her with her credentials.

I know I’ve already got my Christmas present– I started that the last Thursday in May of 2013.

Tamara: 118 lbs. Weight Loss

My name is Tamara and I’m 32 years old. This is my second time doing Optifast. I did it first through Community General Hospital when I was 25. I lost 100 pounds and kept it off for less than a year. I didn’t even give myself a chance to embrace the new me. Now at 32 I knew it was now or never. So I decided to give it another go. Instead this time I did it through Dr. Scinta.

I gave it 100% of my heart and a level of motivation I didn’t know I had. I did the full meal replacement for 18 weeks and now 118 pounds later I’m doing the partial plan and I am 4 pounds away from my goal. I can honestly finally say that I’m in love with the new me but I’m even more in love with the fact that I did it and I’m learning how to maintain it and really change my lifestyle.

I would like to thank Dr. Scinta and the wonderful staff at Medical Weight Loss for their positive energy and support. I would also like to thank my family, especially my Dad who took this journey with me. Thank you for your motivation and endless support.

I went out on maternity leave and when I came back I could not believe the drastic change I saw in these too, unbelievable. It’s always comforting to have that support system to keep you on track and help you feel like you are not doing it alone. Willie and Tamara continue to keep up the great strides. I wish you continued success.
